Cincinnati, OH – Hello to all who are interested in following along. The voyage is officially underway. I said goodbye last week to Blue Ridge School in Virginia after serving four years as the English Language Learners Coordinator. I then spent the weekend on Lake Erie witnessing the marriage between Brian Egan and Meridith Sulser. I’m now in Cincinnati visiting my cousin Darren. Tomorrow I drive to New England to see Sam Campbell’s school presentation. I fly out for Germany on Friday June 12th.
My itinerary is not entirely set, as I like to maintain a certain amount of flexibility. A lot depends on whether I am accepted as a volunteer to do the Peace Boat out of Japan this winter. But fingers crossed, here is more or less a tentative itinerary:
June 12th, 2015: Frankfurt, Germany to see a family friend, Chiara and her family.
June 17th, 2015: Lugano, Switzerland; Work as an administrator for The American School in Switzerland Summer Program
August 19th, 2015: New Delhi, India. Explore the Himalayas in Northern India and Western Nepal
November, 2015: Fly to Vietnam and complete the Ho Chi Minh Trail on a mountain bike
December, 2015: Report to Japan to begin Peace Boat Training
December 17th, 2015 – March 30th, 2016: Peace Boat circumnavigates the world
April 15th, 2016 – September 2016: Thru-hike the Appalachian Trail
October 2016 -January 2017: Trek Te Araroa in New Zealand
February 2017 – May 2017: South America: Hike, Kayak, Bike
Tim Tim, this is incredibly exciting. Please try to keep up with this blog as much as you can so we can follow your adventures, make sure you’re okay, and live vicariously through you. Stay somewhat safe and have a blast!
